Deep Tissue Massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronic aches and pains and contracted areas such as stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders.
Sports massage is a form of massage involving the manipulation of soft tissue to benefit anyone engaged in regular physical activity. It is designed to assist in correcting problems and imbalances in soft tissue, caused from repetitive and strenuous physical activity and trauma. Sports massage prior to and after exercise, may enhance performance, aid recovery and help prevent injury.
Swedish Massage will usually include passive and active joint movements, stretching and bending of the joints with the assistance of the therapist. Swedish massage is the most commonly offered massage technique, utilizing a firm or lighter pressure on the muscles. It will involve long yet gliding strokes.
A unique blend of highly effective techniques drawn from both Japanese and Indian Face Massage, Acupressure and Facial Reflexology.
Natural Lift Facial massage uses a special combination of techniques to improve the complexion, remove toxins, help prevent and remove facial wrinkles and age spots, to balance the life force energy holistically, helping to improve overall health.
Unlike facial surgery it has no ill side effects and is a very effective method of facial care, it produces the equivalent of an acupuncture face lift without the insertion of needles. This advanced method of massage, treats the surface and also deep facial tissues with refined, gentle hand and finger manipulation. These techniques release stresses and traumas locked deeply into the muscles and energy of the face, head and neck.
Reiki roughly translated means – Universal Life Force. The Originator – Mikao Usui was born in Japan in the year 1865 at the beginning of the Meiji Restoration. He discovered Reiki on a Mountain Retreat, where he had gone to fast and meditate for twenty one days.
It is a wonderful treatment that flows, treating the whole person including body, mind, spirit and emotions, creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being. It also works in conjunction with other medical or therapeutic techniques to help promote recovery.
Reiki can be given as a ‘hands on’ (touch or hover over) or ‘distance healing’ that goes where it is needed and can only be used for the higher good. It is an intelligent healing, promoting mental and physical well-being. The Reiki practitioner is a conduit through whom the energy flows into the recipient.
All treatments are given fully clothed – privacy, modesty and dignity are always respected. For enhanced relaxation the recipient is usually lying down, but can be sitting or even standing.
The Five Reiki Principles are: Just For Today I Will Not Worry. Just For Today I Will Not Be Angry. Just For Today I Will Do My Work Honestly. Just For Today I Will Give Thanks For My Many Blessings. Just For Today I Will Be Kind To My Neighbour And Every Living Thing.
